Educational programme

The Pre-primary Phase aims to help young children develop the social, emotional, physical and perceptual skills required for formal learning.

With this goal in mind, a holistic approach is adopted, designed to foster responsibility, self-discovery, interest, enthusiasm and the requisite learning skills for the subsequent phases.

The classrooms offer a stimulating and age-appropriate environment with a wide variety of equipment and teaching aids, and children are encouraged to experiment through play to find answers to their questions and solve problems for themselves.

From Grade 0, children start with computer lessons to familiarise themselves with the information technology environment.

The indoor education programme is complemented by an exciting outdoor play area, which forms an extension of the classroom and provides the children with challenging new interests and situations, which enhance both physical and cognitive development.

In addition, Playball and Kinetics are available as part of the daily programme.

Swimming and water confidence lessons are offered during the summer terms.

A variety of extra-mural activities are also offered by outside organisations.

These activities vary from year to year.

There are Aftercare facilities for children in grade 00 and R, where children are looked after by an experienced adult and her assistant.

The aftercare is available from the end of a school day (12h30 in Grade 00 and 12h45 in Grade R) till 15h00. There are no aftercare facilities for the 3 year olds in Grade 000.

We encourage you, whenever possible, to fetch your child at the end of his or her school day.
