The hairs on my arms bristle as an icy wind picks up, causing the leaves of the oak outside to swirl wildly as they descend from the crooked branches. Since the café is situated on the corner of a busy street, I am at the perfect spot to observe the people around me.

My snarl kept him in the dark. Three creatures waited – the princess waited in hope, the knight waited for the right moment and I waited for… For what? For the pleasure of killing?

The next day came, and many more after that.
Summers passed and the little girl and little boy grew into not so little teenagers. The box was forgotten, lost under old report cards and notes passed in class, and new lip gloss and eye shadow.
