Governance
Somerset College is overseen by a Board of Governors, which is charged with formulating policy and furthering our mission.
Made up of a Chair, a Deputy and heads of various sub-committees, as well as the Chairs and Deputies of the Preparatory and Senior schools, Parent Associations, the Board is instrumental in ensuring the success and financial stability of the school.
The Board is involved in long range issues, rather than day to day management, which is the responsibility of the Heads of the Preparatory and Senior schools respectively, implement Board policy.
The Board, under the leadership of the Chair, is responsible for setting a strategic focus for the school and acts to support the role of the two Heads.
This strategic vision is both dynamic and developing, and is revisited every two years.
Sub-committees such as Education, Buildings and Grounds, Finance, Diversity and Marketing, comprised of Board members and senior management, meet regularly and assist the Board and the Headmasters in managing the school.
